Vizias, the City of Austin Economic Development Office, and HubCiti join forces to host a meet-up during SXSWi at Austin City Hall on the Mayor’s Balcony on March 16, 2015.

“Big data” is more than a buzzword–it’s a growing and important trend for business, education, research, and government. The generation, collection, and analysis of digital data can help understand scenarios, predict outcomes, and improve decisions and policies. However, the use of data analytics for urban improvement is still in its infancy.

We want to change this! Join us and other folks interested in how we can increase the use of data analytics to improve transportation, employment, economic prosperity, access to education and healthcare, and more. This event is for anyone interested in working together on any aspect of the challenge of improving cities and city life:

  • defining the urban issues and opportunities;
  • developing data collection techniques;
  • managing and curating data;
  • development and research in analytics techniques for urban data/issues;
  • discussion of policies.

Enjoy free snacks and drinks and bring your ideas and business cards!
